While attending a workshop on macro photography, I found myself totally uninspired by subjects that the teacher provided for us to photograph in the classroom. Frustrated, I decided to just wander around the grounds of the hotel to see if I could find my own inspiration. Nothing presented itself. Giving up, I drove across the street to grab a quick lunch at Jack in the Box. While sitting in my car, I looked up to see this gorgeous giant bird of paradise right in front of me. I spent a happy hour photographing this beautiful plant. Beauty shows up in the most unexpected places. Who would have thought that my best photo of the weekend would be found in a fast food parking lot?
